How it works

Plug in your battery electric vehicle to the bidirectional charger. From that moment, we continuously analyze your building’s energy use, the grid’s needs, and your driving schedule.

These insights are used to guide when to charge or discharge, to support your building and/or help balance the energy grid. Your vehicle becomes a flexible energy asset.

Reduce your electricity cost

Energy Bank's software is state-of-the-art optimization, the core is your energy contracts. We offer building energy optimization using battery electric vehicles and/or stationary batteries.

  • With a battery electric vehicle and/or a stationary battery, you can use our service for your building. Our system integrates your additional energy units, such as solar panels, stationary batteries, and heat pumps.

    We use information about your building’s energy consumption, energy contracts, electricity prices, and weather forecasts. Our software adapts and makes decisions about how the energy in your batteries should be used based on this information.

With a battery electric vehicle and/or a stationary battery, you can use our service in your building.

Get rewarded

All connected battery assets in Energy Bank work together. You become an important part of stabilizing the power grid. Whether your battery is actively used for grid support services or not, you get paid for the time you are connected.

  • For the power grid to function optimally, the frequency of the grid must be kept stable. This frequency is approximately 50 hertz. If the frequency is too high, it indicates that there is more electricity production than consumption, resulting in excess power on the grid. Conversely, if the frequency is too low, it indicates that more electricity is consumed than produced, leading to insufficient power on the grid. Frequency stability ensures that the grid can quickly restore the balance between electricity production and consumption if something unexpected occurs.

    We help maintain frequency stability by charging connected batteries when the frequency is too high and discharging energy from the batteries when it is too low. These adjustments occur within seconds and involve only small amounts of electricity. Overall, throughout an entire year, the grid support service uses no more electricity than a fully charged battery. By participating you contribute to the energy transition and help address the challenges of an increasingly electrified society.
